We are crazy about chocolate and serious about people. That’s why in 2005 we set out on a mission to inspire a 100% slave-free chocolate industry. Honest cocoa isn’t all that easy to find a in a world in which cocoa is treated as just another mindlessly traded global commodity. We think cocoa is much more precious than that. That’s why we set up long-term relationships with reliable and trustworthy cocoa farmers in Ghana and Ivory Coast. We know the farmers’ names, we know their cocoa. Buying direct is a key step towards 100% slave-free chocolate, and we never cut corners in sourcing Fair Trade ingredients for our bars.
We know we can’t accomplish our mission alone—that’s where you come in! By supporting our efforts to draw awareness to labor conditions, together we can inspire other—larger, much larger—chocolate producers to take responsibility for their cocoa as well. We are determined to change chocolate, and through educating the public to the realities of the modern day chocolate trade, we can continue to uplift supplier communities in Africa where the majority of cocoa is cultivated.
