The Prisoner Wine Company is a renowned winery driven by a passion for producing exceptional wines. Chrissy Wittman, the Director of Winemaking, leads the team with her expertise and dedication to the craft. Originally from Burbank, California, Chrissy's journey into winemaking was unexpected. She pursued studies in Ecology and Systematic Biology at California Polytechnic State University but found her true calling in the world of wine.
Her journey into winemaking began as a wine chemist at Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles. She further honed her skills by earning a Master of Science in Agriculture at Cal Poly. Over the years, she gained invaluable experience as an assistant winemaker at Scheid Vineyards and Wild Horse before becoming the winemaker at Wild Horse for five years. In 2013, she took on the esteemed role of Director of Winemaking and General Manager at The Prisoner Wine Company.
