Sightglass Coffee
Sightglass Coffee began as an aspiration to source, produce, and share distinctive, quality-focused coffees.
Two brothers, Justin, and Jerad Morrison, began with a small, rickety service cart out of a warehouse in San Francisco’s SoMa district, serving coffee to the neighborhood in 2009. People came to visit them, and remarkably, came back to taste more.
A couple of years and many coffees later, the entirety of the warehouse would become a production roastery, a dynamic and unconventional coffee bar, a community gathering space, and the company headquarters. Ten years and many more coffees later, the brothers opened the doors of their first Los Angeles flagship in West Hollywood, featuring an all-day restaurant, bakery, and pastry program, as well as a rotation of highly curated specialty goods.
The company takes its name from the 'sightglass,' the viewing window on a vintage PROBAT coffee roaster that exposes the complex and delicate process of roasting coffee. In this same way, knowing the story behind your coffee—where it was grown, how it was processed, and who handled it along the way— can act as a link from the cup to the wider world.
