Roederer Estate
Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of California's Anderson Valley, Roederer Estate epitomizes a harmonious blend of French winemaking heritage and Californian terroir. Founded in 1982, this vineyard and winery site emerged from the vision of Jean-Claude Rouzaud, former president of Champagne Louis Roederer. Recognizing the significance of estate vineyards in crafting exceptional sparkling wines, Jean-Claude selected the expansive 580-acre Anderson Valley property to create the foundation of Roederer Estate. In 1984, the vineyards were planted, and by 1986, the winery was erected. The inaugural Roederer Estate MV Brut cuvée was introduced in 1988, marking the beginning of a legacy in crafting exquisite sparkling wines.
Rooted in viticulture, Roederer Estate holds the essence of a French family deeply committed to the art of winemaking. With Frédéric Rouzaud at the helm, succeeding his father Jean-Claude Rouzaud, the estate remains family-owned and instilled with a farmer's and winemaker's heart. This essence has enabled Roederer Estate to establish itself as a cornerstone of California's sparkling wine scene, staying faithful to the excellence and style inherited from its French heritage. Under the guidance of winemaker Arnaud Weyrich, Roederer Estate combines age-old traditions and empirical knowledge of their estate vineyards. Beyond the realms of science, their winemaking is a truly artistic endeavor, crafting sparkling wines that delight the senses with their blend of aromas, textures, and an impeccable balance that reflects the Anderson Valley's unique terroir.
