HenHouse Brewing
HenHouse Brewing Company was born in early 2012. Back then, our three founders brewed tiny batches of Saison, Oyster Stout, and Belgian-style Strong Golden Ale in a makeshift brewery near downtown Petaluma. We soon outgrew our nano-brewery, graduating to a larger brewery on North McDowell Blvd in Petaluma that today is home to our Palace Of Barrels. We bought a beat up reefer van and began to sell draft beer directly to restaurants and bars all around the greater Bay Area. Over the next few years, as the beer began to take off and hops started to become our focus, we became known for our commitment to beer freshness and quality for the end consumer. A few more years and a few hundred more accounts and we were ready to grow into our production brewery in the Roseland neighborhood of Santa Rosa which opened in the spring of 2016.
With the move into the big brewery came our own canning line and a commitment to producing the most fun and entertaining four-packs anyone could find. As we hope is quite apparent HenHouse remains committed to being the freshest and most fun beer on the shelf. In 2022 we released 165 different beers! These ranged from small batch releases exclusive to our tasting rooms, to collaborations with many of the most exciting breweries going, to genuinely precious barrel-aged brews, to fundraising beers brewed in coordination with local non-profits! Creating wealth for our community is the third pillar of our mission and growth has always meant more opportunities to give back in ways that produce real, tangible impacts. In the past two years we have donated more than $100,000 worth of beer and $40,000 in cash to support non-profit organizations doing vital work on environmental justice, restoration, conservation, LGBTQIA issues, racial justice and equity within the craft beer industry. The Freshtival is our annual beer festival, which raised $45,000 last year to support the Bay Area Brewers Guild, a nonprofit that helps keep our industry and community awesome.
