Barhi dates are nature's caramel. Sensual, velvety, and buttercream-sweet, these dates will please more than any candy bar, ice cream, or pie.
When they're picked fresh off the palm tree, dates have a firmer, almost foam-like texture. While they can be used to pickle or chopped very small and used as a subtle sweetener to hearty grain salads, before they dry, they're very tannic. They're most commonly allowed to dry out to the point where the dates have a very apparent translucent quality to them, at which point their tannins have given way to an incredibly rich sweetness that can only be found in this short period of the fresh Date season.
