Dufour Pastry Kitchens
Bronx, NY
The independent and women owned Dufour Pastry Kitchen got its start in 1983 when Judi Arnold and Carla Krasner, then classical concert promoters, were inspired to do something about the mediocre canapés and flavorless hors d’oeuvres being served at the events they were working.
With a commitment to quality and an obsessive approach to detail, the duo has grown their business into an internationally respected brand noted for their buttery and flaky, hand-finished, doughs and frozen appetizers. Dufour strictly uses real full-flavored Grade AA butter sourced from local New York state creameries, setting their doughs and pastries apart from others employing cheap vegetable-based shortening. The result is a high-rising and elegant layered dough ready to bake at home and sure to be a crowd favorite.
