Diestel Turkey
Diestel Turkey Ranch raises food that everyone would be proud to eat and proud to share. Everything is produced according to strict animal welfare and environmental standards. From the commitment to regenerative agriculture to the fresh pine-wood shavings that line their barns, to the natural and organic cleaners they use, to the generous spaces they give their birds to roam, to pioneering innovative new processes, Diestel Turkey makes the only choices they are proud to talk about—like deciding to become one of the first turkey producers to earn a Global Animal Partnership Step 5 rating.
The Diestel Family Ranch has been in the family for over 70 years. It all began with Great Uncle Ernest, who taught Grandpa Jack everything he knew. With Great Uncle Ernest’s time-tested techniques and honest philosophies, Grandpa Jack founded Diestel Turkey Ranch in 1949. Since then, the ranch has done everything but compromise the values as they stake Grandpa Jack's name on to raise the leanest, cleanest, most delicious birds that money can buy. It’s a tradition that’s survived for decades, most recently with Tim and Joan Diestel, who laid a sound foundation for the transition from their watchful eye to their children, Heidi, and Jason Diestel.
The Diestel Family Ranch is now under its fourth generation of family management, and you can expect that transition to come with a hefty helping of new ideas, renewed passion, and, well, new arguments around their family dinner table. But their commitment to doing things right will never change, "not even if we make it to our fortieth generation."
