Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey

Pennsylvania has a history of making rye whiskey that goes back before the Revolution. But when Prohibition was passed, the long tradition of Pennsylvania Rye came to an end. Dad's Hat founders Herman C. Mihalich and John S. Cooper are aiming to bring that tradition back. Using a mash of 85% rye and 15% malted barley, Dad's Hat has created relationships with Pennsylvania rye farmers, and are proud to source all their rye from within the state. Their direct farmer relationships allow them to have rye grown to their specifications, specifically for whiskey production. They also sent their spent grain back to their farmers to feed livestock and as a compost and soil nutrient, closing the nutrient cycle.
