CARBONISTE, founded by Dan and Jacqueline Person, is a winery devoted to redefining sparkling wine with a modern Californian approach. Dan’s experience at Schramsberg and Larkmead, coupled with Jacqueline’s extensive background consulting for Naked Wines, inspired their shared vision for sparkling wines that embody the vibrant fruit and character of California rather than mimic traditional Champagne styles. Recognizing that California’s fruit expresses itself differently than Champagne's, they developed winemaking methods specifically suited to their local grapes, creating sparkling wines that are fresh, fruit-forward, and distinctly Californian.
