Barebottle Brewing Co. emerged from a unique insight that transformed into a captivating craft beer journey. After years of participating in and assessing beer competitions, the founders of Barebottle recognized a hidden gem: the creative brilliance of homebrewers often surpasses the conventional offerings of commercial breweries. This realization ignited the spark for Barebottle Brewing Co., a San Francisco-based craft brewery that thrives on crowd-inspired innovation.
The trio behind the brewery, Lester Koga, Michael Seitz, and Ben Sterling, share a common background as classmates at Cornell Business School in Ithaca, NY. Their passion for brewing, however, blossomed after they relocated to the Bay Area in 2007. Venturing into homebrewing, the three friends evolved into certified beer judges, securing medals at prestigious homebrewing competitions. With an unwavering commitment to crafting truly inventive beers, Barebottle harnesses the spirit of San Francisco and its rich local ingredients. Collaborating with local homebrewing groups, the brewery uses a competitive approach to develop fresh and dynamic beer creations that capture the essence of the Bay Area's innovation and creativity.
