Panettone

This traditional Italian holiday treat is often considered one of the most challenging sweet loaves to bake. Soft and fragrant, densely packed with candied fruits and delicious raisins, this somehow featherlight bread is naturally leavened with a sourdough starter. It rises three times before it's baked, resulting in an airy, fragrant and truly special loaf. For best results, we recommend heating your panettone for about 5 minutes in a 350°F oven.

Ingredients: unbleached flour (wheat flour, enzyme), cultured butter, water, sugar, egg yolks, candied orange peel (orange peel, glucose fructose syrup, sugar), golden raisins, candied lemon peel (lemon peel, glucose-fructose syrup, sugar), almonds, pearl sugar, honey, powdered sugar (sugar, cornstarch), sea salt, pure vanilla bean paste (sugar, water, vanilla extract, vanilla beans, gum tragacanth (a natural thickener)), barley malt, orange zest, egg whites, lemon zest, cornmeal.
