Progeny Coffee Farmers
Progeny Coffee Farmers is owned and operated by a fifth generation Colombian coffee farmer keeping her family's legacy alive through impact. Co-founder Maria Palacio witnessed the struggle to maintain a living through coffee firsthand. After moving to the U.S. and seeing that a cup of coffee was selling for over $5, she knew she had to help her community back home. When she brought on other co-founder John Trabelsi to Columbia, they began brainstorming a company that would provide high-end customer service while taking care of its farmers. They grow and source all of their products from Colombia, a region that has the perfect geography, climate and soil for growing coffee. Colombian coffee is renowned all over the world for its quality and delicious taste, but it’s not enough to have the perfect climate and terrain. Every bean in Colombia is picked by hand. Progeny Coffee Farmers is always actively looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint throughout the supply chain. They are currently cleaning up waterways from coffee production, to using regenerative agricultural techniques to bring life back into the soil and down to their sustainable packaging. Progeny Coffee Farmers is on a mission to bring coffee farmers out of poverty by becoming the first international impact-driven coffee company. By working directly with farmers in Columbia and paying them beyond Fair Trade prices, this enables them to improve the quality of their coffee, which in turns helps provide the best experience to customers.
