The McIntosh is the national apple of Canada, and our neighbors to the north made a great choice. It's an all-purpose variety making them great for snacking or baking. It has a somewhat tart flavor to its delicate white flesh, and it's somewhat thicker, taught skin imparts a tannic hint that further brightens this already lively apple.
