Product Details

Approx. 6 oz per half pint clamshell container Tuesday only
These are know by many names, alpine strawberries, wild strawberries, fragole de bosco, or as we are calling them fraises des bois.  Small and intensely aromatic they are a special addition to any desert or just eaten fresh.  We have spent two years slowly dividing our best producers and are now up to about 1000 plants producing only about 20 half pint clamshells per pick.  Due to their extreme perishibility we pick them and get them to market in under 24 hours.  Don't expect to store these for long.  We carefully pinch off the fruit and put them directly into the clamshells to avoid bruising but they are a delicate product and should not be left long before use.

Each half pint clamshell contains over 100 fresh strawberries and weighs about  6 ounces.

About The Producer

Happy Quail Farm
East Palo Alto
David grew up on a 300-acre vegetable farm in Florida and began farming as a profession shortly after he moved to the Bay Area in 1978. The farm (originally a hobby quail farm) has evolved into an “artisanal, speciality, urban micro-farm.” David has found his niche in specialty peppers and now produces over 30 varieties of sweet and hot peppers. The farm uses eight of their pepper varieties to make paprika by sun drying, dehydrating, and then grinding them in a corn mill.Read more
