These Granny Smith Apples are far from your standard supermarket wax-covered apple. They're grown in Sebastopol's coastal climate, in which they slowly mature, concentrating all of their flavors into a more compact fruit, dense with sweet-tart flavor. They develop a light green, occasionally yellow tint, and are wonderful for eating and, of course, for baking projects. When Grannies are in town, they are not to be missed.
